"High art absurdity" - Riss Obbolensky, Lost Cabaret Bristol 2023
DADA YAGA
Work in Progress
Dada Yaga is born out of the Slavic folklore of Baba Yaga. A formidable and grotesque witch who in their mythology plays the role of the terrifying alchemist of transformation. Inducting the innocent child through rites of passage which light the fires of boldness within.
But what lies at Baba Yaga's core?
Beyond the bones and torture, is there a child within Dada Yaga who wants to come out and play?
Using clown, mime, bouffon costume and puppetry this piece takes the audience on a rites of passage journey that confronts and comforts.
Liberating us in a psychomagic act of fear and overcoming.
"SENSATIONAL!" - Cuppa Hubba

Clown and Ritual with
Zuma Puma
Clown and Ritual is a passion born out of a five year period of training and then apprenticing with the extraordinary teacher and pedagog of Clownlife - Zuma Puma. My experience has been that of profound transformation through the performative exploration of inner archetypes and connection to nature. During this period I performed, improvised and devised pieces in both solo and group performances in wild spaces. My philosophy of clown is largely born out of my learnings from Zuma. The workshops I teach are inspired by her phenomenal facilitation.
